Derek Neilson

Recently transplanted from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Dr. Neilson brings 23 years of experience in clinical and research genetics to his position as Division Chief of Genetics and Metabolism.  Over that period of time, Dr. Neilson has witnessed and been a part of the rapid changes in genetics and genomics, with projects ranging from traditional mapping and cloning, to genomic sequencing, and investigations of the common disorder of hypermobility.
