CTS PhD Student Dora Valencia Helps Hundreds to Receive COVID Vaccine

While all students in the Clinical Translational Sciences graduate program are doing research that can lead to better medical care, Ph.D. student Dora Valencia recently assisted hundreds of local people in protecting their health in real time. As featured recently by KOLD News, Ms. Valencia helped Spanish-speaking family members to register for their COVID vaccinations, only to find that they were passing her name to others who needed similar assistance. In all Ms. Valencia was able to help over 300 people locally to register and receive their vaccines. She was honored by as a recipient of their “Heart and Sol of Tucson” awards. The CTS program salutes Ms. Valencia for her service to the community.
