Lupe received her Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Health and Human Services Administration and went on to earn her Master’s in Public Health, Public Health Policy and Management from the University of Arizona (U of A) College of Public Health all while working full-time at the U of A College of Medicine – Tucson (COM). She held several positions over her 20 years at the U of A with the majority of her time serving as the Special Assistant to the COM Deans. In 2014, she joined the Association of American Medical Colleges Dean’s Assistant Group where she served on several sub-committees. In 2018, she received the Lura Hanekamp Dedicated Staff Award for Excellence. This award exemplifies her dedication to her career of serving fellow staff, students and faculty. In 2020, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Operations & Strategy where she assisted with overseeing the advancement of various areas such as space management, strategic planning, human resource transactions, finance and ensured training and cross coverage with her direct reports.
Lupe joined the Global MD team in October of 2022 as the Assistant Director of Operations. In September of 2024, she was promoted to Assistant Director, Operations and Strategy for the College of Health Sciences which includes her continued role with Global MD. She oversees the operations at the college and program level encompassing space, personnel actions, recruitment, on-boarding, budgetary matters, legal/contract review and high-level ad-hoc projects. Lupe serves as an advisor to the various units and sits on the COHS leadership team reporting directly to the COHS Dean and Executive Dean.
