Monica Michalski, PT, DPT
Monica Michalski, PT, DPT, Board Certified Orthopedic clinical specialist joins the College of Health Sciences and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program as an Assistant Professor of Practice. Dr. Michalski received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana (2012) and obtained her Bachelor of Science (1991) and Master of Physical Therapy (1993) both from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Michalski loves learning and teaching. In 1998, she received and since maintained her Board Certification in Orthopedics (OCS). She is certified in: Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the spine (MDT); Pilates (Polestar) Rehabilitation; Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD/C); Graston Technique (GTS); Master Wellness Coaching (CWC) and LSVT-BIG (for Parkinson’s Disease) as well as a certified Clinical Instructor. She trained extensively and has certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation. Dr. Michalski has most recently focused on and specialized in the evaluation and treatment of vestibular and balance disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings (including emergency department), and she eagerly anticipates developing research in this area.
Dr. Michalski has presented at multiple national conferences on the rehabilitation of movement dysfunctions. In addition to being a clinical education coordinator, new graduate mentor, and adjunct faculty for a PT assistant program, she served for four and a half years as the Director of Rehabilitative Services at an Arizona hospital and outpatient center.
