Lisa H. Kiser, DNP, CNM, WHNP
Dr. Lisa Kiser, CNM, WHNP, DNP is an assistant clinical professor at the UArizona College of Nursing, where she has worked for 13 years. Dr. Kiser is a certified nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner and works two days a week providing women’s healthcare at a rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) 30 minutes from the U.S.-Mexico border. Dr. Kiser is a native Tucsonan who is deeply rooted in her community, with a commitment to increasing health equity in the Borderlands. She helped start the women’s health program at Clinica Amistad, a local free clinic in Tucson and served as a founding member of the MILAGRO Collaborative, an interprofessional healthcare team at UArizona that created a service-learning course in partnership with Casa Alitas to help students learn about and address migration. Dr. Kiser currently serves as a board member for the Southeast Arizona Health Education Center (SEAHEC), where she works on binational health initiatives and deepening partnerships with community and educational organizations in Mexico and Arizona. Dr. Kiser is a lead trainer for the HRSA grant, Advanced Nurse Education-Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program (Grant Number: T96HP32508), where she helped create an innovative clinical skills training that educated over 100 nurses in the past four years.
