Hope Wollen
Hope was born and raised in Calgary Canada, and grew up enjoying many Canadian past times, such as skiing, skating, and eating poutine. Hope has always known she wanted to be a genetic counselor; in high school science class it was “love at first pedigree”. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from St. Mary’s University. Later she returned to the same school to complete a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Science, where she had the privilege of teaching high school genetics in one of her rotations. On her path to genetic counseling she has had many roles, including ski instructor, crisis hotline volunteer, assistant manager at Build-A-Bear Workshop, and laboratory technician at the Calgary Milk Bank. She is very grateful to be able to pursue her dream career in beautiful Tucson Arizona. If she is not busy studying, you can find her lounging by the pool, curled up with a book, or snuggling her cat, Specter.
