Matt is a program manager with more than 20 years of experience at the U of A. Since 2020, he has been part of the program team at Health Sciences Design, where he works closely with the HSD director to advance communications, curricular affairs, special projects and general operations. He also serves as HSD’s graduate program coordinator, supporting recruitment, admissions and student affairs for the Design for Health Innovation graduate certificate.
Matt has been at the University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) since 2004, when he began working for the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH). At MEZCOPH, he supported federal grants that addressed health disparities among urban Native Americans. In 2008, he began working as an intake counselor and referral coordinator for the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline (ASHLine), a state-funded tobacco cessation service that was then managed by MEZCOPH’s Network for Information Counseling. In 2010, Matt joined UAHS Administration, where he helped operationalize new initiatives and assisted UAHS leadership with strategic planning, high-level recruitment and onboarding, and other executive priorities.
Prior to joining the U of A, Matt attended Fort Hays State University, where he studied Spanish and studio art, and worked in the for-profit and non-profit sectors in a variety of management, marketing and human services roles.
