Melanie "MJ" Ellis, MPAS, PA-C joined the PA program in August as the Director of Didactic Education and Clinical Instructor. MJ brings 30+ years’ experience as an executive leader and PA. In her most recent role, she served as the Program Director for the Interservice PA Program (IPAP) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. MJ received her PA training from the United States Air Force and the University of Nebraska. She has held a variety of roles including Clinical Coordinator for IPAP, Medical Director for the Surgical Service Apprentice Program and Medical Director for the Aerospace Medical Service Apprenticeship Program at Andrews Air Force Base (AFB) in Maryland. She also served as a Flight Medicine PA for the elite Priority Air Transport unit.  MJ was the first PA to be offered a position on the NATO Headquarters’ Medical Plans and Operations team.   She was recognized as the Federal Service PA of the Year and a Distinguished Fellow by the American Academy of Physician Associates and received the Order of Military Medical Merit this year.
