Ronald Sorenson, MS, MA

Executive Director for Community Engagement, Family & Community Medicine

Ronald Sorensen, MS, MA, is the executive director for community engagement at the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the College of Medicine – Tucson. In this role, he provides leadership, strategic direction and executive administrative support for the department’s community outreach programs. As a member of the department’s executive leadership team, Sorensen works to strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders and optimize operations and strategic outreach initiatives.

Sorensen previously served as director of community health partnerships at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, where he led initiatives to support homeless patients, developed a faith-community nursing program and facilitated collaboration among hospitals on community health priorities. He also spent over 20 years at California State University at Northridge, teaching courses in strategic planning, marketing and health care management. Sorensen holds a Master of Science in health administration from California State University at Northridge, as well as a Master of Arts in moral theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut.
